I agree, get a fan shroud and that should be all you need. I would also recommend maybe getting a mechanical gauge for better accuracy if concerned about temp.
I have a custom auto sound radio and while it fit well and worked well, I just wasn't impressed with audio output compared to just a cheap DIN CD player/radio. I made the choice to install a DIN in both my trucks and I am happy with them. However, as Duncan said, you do have to modify the...
Hey Duncan!!! I have to catch up on your build thread. I did read your chassis was collecting dust...hopefully not too muchThanks Doug.I remember that a bit. I am gonna redo the wiring and use heavier wiring, 75amp relays and temp switch/sensors rather than a controller and see what...
Been out of FTF for awhile. Life got too damn busy. Finally was able to get my Blue 77 back in my garage. Been in storage at my brothers shop for the past 3 years. Damn it was nice firing it up again and taking it for a spin. Gotta do some work on it. My dual electric fans work great...
https://bucks77ford.opendrive.com/files?MjNfMzAyNzE1XzFtMmRjNot sure if this works or not. Diagrams for 78. Should be able to open and download I think.
Did they offer to replace or fix the carb? Sorry you had the problem with your carb from QFT. They are a very reputable company and I have had great luck with them. But like any company, there is always a defective part and/or bad experiences. Just like one of my Edelbrocks. Brand new and...
On the "walmart"budget, start browsing your local craigslist and junkyards if you haven't already. Even put in an ad of what you looking for. Bedsides are gonna be tough to find from private buyers and if you do find them, prepare to pay a pretty penny. Start comparing prices at various...
I have had this issue for quite some time. When my distributor vac advance is hooked up, the truck sputters a bit from a stop to acceration and seems to run fine at higher speeds. With the vac advance plugged off, truck runs much better. I played with timing a bit, but never messed with the...
I would also talk to an upholstery shop to rebuild your seat. Even finding a good seat from a later style truck up to 96 is becoming more difficult. It's not factory but you can look at these guys. They sale seats and the seat mount to bolt to our floors. The cost of a new seat though might...
I also went with a 130 amp alternator. I went with a one wire one and when it takes a crap, I may do the actual 3G swap for ease of replacing the alternator since most parts stores carry them. One wire alternators most likely would need to order. But so far, mine works good. Jut remember to...
Right now the supercab is sitting for the winter. I have a golf cart project I am working on right now for this summer at the campground we stay at so I stored the supercab at a friends house outside. It's a pain with 2 vehicles sitting outside when it snows. I need an acreage:)I need to...
Look forward to hear the results. No one usually has parts for these old trucks around my area either. Usually though, I can get what I need from the parts stores the next day, but when you are in the middle of a project, it sucks having to wait.
Unfortunately I Don't. I have to wait until after hours when my wife is at work and the kids gone to bed. I have lost a lot sleep to work on my truck but it's worth it.
Still sounds like you are not getting spark. Have you checked that since a few days ago? Even though things had ran fine but don't now, doesn't mean you are still getting spark. I have had the same things happen and come to find out a wire became pinched or not hooked up properly after doing...
First off, nice project. In addition to the core support, there are some differences in the radiator mounting and the size of hole for the radiator. Some had smaller size holes for smaller radiators. Also, some had flanges for a rear mount radiator vs front mount radiators. The front mount...
Looks like a nice truck but just given that fact of what it is...F350 dually 2wd flatbed truck.....no real good reason to store it and not use it for 38 years. I could see a lot of surface rust from humidity and rodent piss if it was stored, but I also think it is BS.
Looks like a heck of a project. Nice to see another truck saved from completely rotting away beyond no return. I have seen other build threads where people have saved cabs that looked like they couldn't be fixed, however, even if you could find a cab with bad cab corners or floor pans, you...
