If he's having the same problem I am, the cap doesn't seem to seal right on the overflow, or the pressure is popping the cap off, one or the other. I'm going to try a mod with a Cheby overflow tank with a screw on cap when I do the rebuild and see how that goes.
I can't find my notes at the moment, but if memory serves, the #4 and #8 plug holes are almost directly behind the headers on the GT40P heads. Don't quote me on that though, as I can't find my notes.I'm sure Paul will eventually find this thread and can shed some more info about it. Here's a...
With the GT40 heads, it's as simple as getting the bolt holes bored out. With the GT40P heads, you'll have to get the bolt holes bored out and make some mods to the headers so as to not burn up your plug wires.
Got the F350 picked up yesterday (Saturday) and towed to my friend's shop.Got the bed removed and started cutting it up for scrap. The frame is a lot worse than I expected, but I'm not after it for the frame.I'm taking the front clip and transplanting it on my truck, except the bumper, the...
So, I now have everything in hand except for the heads. When I went to pick those up, they were the GT40P heads. (So sayeth the stamp and the four bars was a dead giveaway.) So, I'm still looking for a set of heads.I found some on RockAuto.com, part #H3195(MARSHALL Part # H3195 More Info...
Allrighty then, I've made a bit of progress.1. Cruise Control - I replaced the brake light switch, no change. Turns out the 15 amp fuse for the brake lights/cruise control was popped. So why the cruise control itself actually worked, I have no idea, but it did. Replaced the fuse, works great...
Very nice. I've been giving some serious thought to switching to electric fans. Once I get my engine rebuilt and the front clip switched out, I'll have to pick your brain. I got the mechanics down, but the electrical bumfuzzles me.
Got to work this morning for our usual Friday "Safety Meeting". Boss calls my name and 4 other guys (the 5 of us are the only 5 paid $20 or better) and says he needs to talk to us after the meeting. We all got pink slipped. Didn't even see it coming. No ifs and's or butt holes about it. Thanks...
Here's something I just tried on my '91 and it worked... sorta.Cut the fitting off the end of the stock wire and ground it to the block. Dummy gauge reads normal. Remove it from ground, dummy gauge reads low. YMMV.
Wow! I've gone from being on a distinguished road to being famous soon enough.I guess the members with more rep can give more rep too. Thanks piggy and Goose.
With some fittings purchased from Lowes I intalled a "T". Arranged it so that the straight through goes to the mechanical gauge in the truck and the sender unit for the dummy gauge is in the "T" so I get true pressure.
I've got an opportunity to purchase a '95 F350 that was t-boned passenger side mid-bed and the frame is tweaked pretty bad. And no Tex, it's not a short bed.Anyway, 351 & E4OD tranny. Is the E4OD in the F350s as big of a PITA in the '95s as it is in the '91s?The guy only wants $500 for it...
