Thanks for the info. I'm looking at a friends 64 right this second actually. I'm not seeing the difference between our two truck, as far as the actual cab goes? Am I missing something?Good to know on the bed though. Makes it easier to find one.Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Hey guys. Long time, no post. I recently acquired a friends 65 f100, short flareside, 2wd, 240, 3 on the tree. It's kind of a family truck, with a fair amount of sentimentality to it. This truck drives like a million bucks, so well that I tell people it drives like the day it left the ford...
Loaded the bed of the 77 with a pallet of ttb dana 50 stuff to go trade for a solid axle for the 88. Gunna put some miles on tomorrow driving south to meet up with the guySent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
And I'm REALLY tired of getting stuck every time I leave asphalt. Which is quite frequent. I live in the Northwest haha its slick.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
Part of me is along that line of thinking, but the thing is, I'm pretty deep into making this truck my full time work truck. I'm trying to get to where I can sell my '08 6.4 and bank the extra cash to save and buy my uncles king ranch 6.7 in about a year. Also, there seem to be enough of these...
So I got stuck on steep gravel towing a trailer AGAIN and began revisiting a 4x4 swap on my 77 f350 camper special. From research and parking 2 trucks side by side, I've figured out that there are actually a lot of similarities between the front of my frame and that of a 73- early 77 f250 4x4...
I'm not sure if your truck gets to experience much weather, but be careful with the plywood in the bed if it gets rained on a lot. The plywood holds moisture and rots out the bottom of your bed. My Dad has a 73 that can attest to that!
That's about half true. The black one on back is a running, driving truck. The white one, however, is a recent purchase and hasn't ran in a couple years. There is a large gaping hole where a carburetor should be. But yeah, trailering with the diesel means 13 mpg, vs 8 mpg each, trying to drive...
I don't need one either, but it sure makes it nice to cruise 75 mph with 2 rows of seating and no wind noise competing with the satellite radio hahaSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
I'll be honest, this photo was a setup. I actually hauled this load a hundred miles or so north with my 08 6.4. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a photo of a 77 f350 camper special towing a 8000# spread axle gooseneck with a 78 f350 camper special and a 77 f150 SWB 4x4 on the deck...
Thanks. The credit goes to the pickup, it does me proud. As far as things I would tow with it- I would never do anything that would hurt the truck as far as too much weight on the frame, or tow something I couldn't stop in a reasonable distance. That being said, I have a 460 that runs great, a...
Robbed a matching hood off a parts truck. It's a rusty piece of junk, to be honest. But it will do while I send my good hood off to be paintedSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
Truck handled it pretty well too. The rear was in a low spot in the picture, it actually sat pretty level. Trailer is 35' on the deck with the tail up. 8000# empty. And it tows so niceSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
Hauled some gluelams last weekend to use in the barn for stall walls. Calculator shows front to back axles as I rolled across the scales.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
Definitely. And the bottom of the body also. Not sure why someone painted it black... it is the matching hood and appears to be free of rustSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
Thanks! It was mainly a maintenance day for the trailer, but I also hadn't towed that trailer with the truck before so I figured I would see how the 77 took it before I took off anytime soon to haul anything heavy. Needless to say, it did fine. Just slow, compared to my deleted and tuned 6.4...
Thanks! I treat it right and maintain it well, but at the end of the day, it is exactly to me what it was designed to be. A work truck. I daily drive it, hunt with it, tow whatever I want with it, and it delivers everytime. Just as reliable as my 08 6.4, and costs me a whole lot less per month...
