I noticed the eco boost engines are the same as far as the dipstick is concerned. My state doesn't require front plates, so I took off the bracket and stick my foot in that hole and stand there to check the oil.
Looking good. Are those 20"? I have always liked the Open Country or it cousin the Terra Grappler but can't find either in my 18" size. I still have at least another 20k to go on the stock Michelins but am thinking about a lineup of replacements now.
I know the blower motor didn't come out too Dalit when I had my Ram. I couldn't imagine a Caravan. When I replaced the heater core in said Ram, the dash did come out pretty easy. That's where it stopped, actually changing the core was a pain in the rear end. Worse part was seperating the 11...
I just found this. Thanks for the birthday wishes. It was an interesting birthday to say the least, and I am still trying to recover from it. My step dad was taken off of life support the day before, not expected to live but a few hours. He ended up pulling through until almost noon on my birthday.
I repaired the plastic bed rails and wiper cowl before we traded our 05. A can of Krylon Fuzion in satin black and 45 minutes made a world of difference.
Thanks guys! Buzz, it was overcast when I started with the sun peaking out once in a while, then hiding back behind its cloud cover. In fact I was concerned that it would start raining on my a couple time. But I was able to finish and squeeze 3 more hours outside before it did start raining.I...
The resistor in the 2005 we had was as good as new when we traded it. I remember reading about the issues and taking the glove box down to identify it in case it did fail. I noticed low speed going out on my 2012 and 3 days later I was down to only the high setting. I didnt think they failed...
Apparently the a/c fan resistor is still an issue with the F series. I just wasnt expecting it go so soon.
A back story- Last thread I posted here was the first day we brought the 2012 home. At that point it was going to be my wifes truck and I was taking her 2005 F150. A few weeks later, the...
Thanks Mike, Ernie, and Mark. My driveway is a mess. We just bought this house last year and the busted side of the driveway is from parking a 1 ton welding rig there night after night for 15 years. We have plans though, just need to get the funds up to execute them. Dealing with the more urgent...
The 5.0 has a low key rumble even with the factory exhaust that just lets you know that it will sound great with a set of duals on it, just like the days of old lol. It has plenty of power compared to the 4.7 liter Chrysler engine it replaced, and the 4.6 liter in the 05 that has become my work...
My 2002 Ram 1500 threw a head gasket on me day before yesterday, and after dumping a lot of money into the thing in the past year, trading it off for a new one for the wife and me taking her 2005 F150 made more sense then another over a grand repair. I dont have the best pics as it began...
Hey guys, on my wifes 2005 4.6 liter it started making a terrible ticking type noise, only from the drivers side though. There is no rhyme or reason to it, sometimes it will do it on cold start and sometimes only after it warms up. I have stuck my head everywhere I dare to try to locate this...
Okay, just finished. Apparently it was something I was scaring myself over because I have never dealt with it before. It was actually easier then my 2 piece Ram bearing. Its cheaper too, even with the sockets (2) I had to buy and the $20 nylon locking nut. I originally bought a regular 36mm...
I chose to order the part as I am going back to work tomorrow and won't be home for a week, so if you can take a peep at one I would appreciate it. I just don't want to get everything apart and put it back together broken because I need to order another part. The part I ordered said rotor and...
Okay guys, passenger front wheel bearing is done for one the 2wd Supercrew. A simple thought on these bearings design is that they are the most godawful thing I have ever dealt with.I have on order, the integrated rotor/ hub assembly, and a new axle nut.I havent taken this apart yet, but I...
