This is a sad for me but I guess its life. I am going to sale me truck I just purchased last month, been looking for a Ford project for about a year now. Just found what I wanted and as life has a way of slaping you in the face I'm going to have to sell it. Due to some unforseen issues I am not...
Well I knew somebody would know, And I thank all who took a shot at guessing. I just wanted to know and some will not agree, I think that is the richest looking color on one of these trucks I have ever seen. What I mean by that is some colors look sporty some look fast and some just look like...
Like I posted before; always been a GM guy and I'm on my first ford project [and loving it]. Not to sound like a dumba$$. But why are the 6th gen trucks called Dentside's? thankssmilieFordlogo
Thanks for your info guys, I got the plastic setup out of the 79 and it fit like a glove. I like it much better than the soft duct.
By the way Buck, What blue is that on your truck; thats a very good looking color.
I have a 76 with soft AC duct, I noticed while walking around a junk 79 the other day it had hard plastic ducting to everything including the side reg. wounder if the 79 hard duct would my 76. Seems like it would be better.
Good point, I do not know if the blower is bad, but looking at the process I will change the switch and resistor before having to take on the monster of changing the blower motor. Man what was those thinking when the designed a mess like this system!!!!!!!!!!!!!:headbang:
Would anybody out there have a explowed view of the blowed motor for a 1976 with AC. Looks like you have to remove the complete unit on the firewall just to change out a blower motor.
Yea I know the stock tire was a L78-15, that the reason I choose the 29-15-15 MT so I could keep the stock height. the 295-50-15 and N50-15 is in the 27" range. The question was more about the weith being 15" instead of 12" like the 50 series tires.
Maybe somebody knows. I have been building Chevy trucks for years and have learned most of the GM cans and can nots. Looking for a change I;m now working on my first Ford project. I know you can run a 29" tall 15" wide tire with a 10" rim on a lowered GM truck by just widing the finder wells in...

Maybe someone knows; on the back of the insturment cluster I found 2 plastic covers over the studs on the temp and oil presure gauge studs. They have a Ford stamp on them with the part number C9ZF-10C914.
Someone added aftermarket Temp, Oil and Amp gauge cluster under dash and I want to do...
Very true, My wife followed me home, 08 Tahoe so I felt hers would be more correct than mine so I'm going off her trip meter. But there was only 3 miles difference in both. I read 3 miles more than she did. I'm shocked about the mileage myself, but that was what the numbers said. May never get...
Wow thanks Bill, you are quite the mass of infomation, So the 14 does mean it has 3.00 gear? I drove the truck home 153 miles of interstate 70 to 75 mph, I could tell it was a very tall geared truck. I'll say this; This is the first 390 I have ever drove are even road in. I must make masave...
Wow Thanks, Alxe code is 14J trans code is G so I'm seeing it has 3.00 gear, I knew it had to be a tall gear because of the why it cruises on the hwy. Any idea what the J behind the 14 means. I take it the G is for C-6 trans. thanks
Thanks, I just find everybody jumped on the GM wagon, its the dime a doz thing. I find the Fords much harder to get parts for, there is not much history info out there as opposed to GM that is. I'm looking forward to the challenge.
Not a problem, always happy to anwser anybody's question...if I know that is. Years of building restored orginal show cars has tought me to do all the rearch I can, After I found this truck that was the first thing I started doing, knowing little about Fords I have been flying all over the net...
Not a problem, I research everything. Yes it was BUILT WITH A 390, Form the info I've found 76 was the last year, I did find some info a guy post about a 78 LTD with a 390 but he stated the hood tag said 360 so I'm not sure on that one. You can run the vin. if you wish F15MLA03581, Built in Aug...
Thanks, Yea I think the Ford will be a cool project, My last was a 72 CST 4x4 Blazer. But it was a restored org ISCA world of wheels show truck. Some of you guys ever went to New Orleans, Houston or Shreveport World of wheels you may have seen it. You know the kind you spend a ton of money and...
New guy here........ Just bought a 1976 F-150 XLT Ranger off ebay yesterday. I've been building 67-72 chevys for years and the Ford bug hit me about a year ago. To be honest I fought it for a while but really started looking hard for a 6th gen Ford about 3 months ago. And I'm happy to say I...
