A few years ago I bought a pair of closed chamber 4V heads for $200, and they were bare(no valves or anything). Since the ones your talking about are in good shape, it sounds like a good deal to me. You can plan for an open chamber head with the right pistons. If you still have 8:1, and no plans...
I'm also for the unsung heros. That's why I say 400. The rpm range makes it a monster for a pickup. Saves money if you already have it. I hear there's a place in the states that sells the Aussie 2V heads for $350 pair. Good bang for the buck. My other favorite is a 300, even though i'm swapping...
Ford doesn't make Cummings nor Cummins. Never did. Cummins is a diesel engine manufacturer. Ford uses Cummins in the F650 and above.
Ford's tractor brand, New Holland made diesels for the 86-93 Med Duty trucks. They were a 6.6 or a 7.8.
Mainly because the guys with 300s swipe the head from a 240 for the compression gift. Same attributes apply to both the 240 and 300. The 240 can wind up a little higher though.
That's great mpg. I get 11-12mpg with my 67. It's the same mpg as when it was all original with a 1bbl carb. You may get a wee bit better mpg by getting an AOD, or M5R2, and either will have overdrive. Swapping over to a 240 head can squeak a little more from it. Other than that, you will have...
Are we talking the body side moulding? I have a full set on mine (body parts are from a 72 F250) that I wanted to get rid of, but not sure if anyone would want it.
My nephew pulled out a 390 for a 300, and really built the krap out of it.
Six in a row makes it go!
A Vee aint for me!

I got a 300 in my 67. I just ordered a cam for it Friday. Then it'll have all the traditional hot rod add ons.
As you may find out by building one, they need a better head. Forced induction kinda helps there.
The one on my 67 has the clips for the visors on it. I can take a picture of it. My poor truck has 72 F250 body panels (hood, fenders, doors, and bed)on it, so I lost the lever action door locks.
-Grile
-no reflectors by the tail lights
-windshield visor and rear view mirror is all in one piece, and attached to the cab.
-hood side emblems
-door panel
-no pop up door lock by the window
-lever to open doors
-wing window latch
-heater controls are 3 knobs
-ash tray
-AM radio, and radio...
I got a not-so-good vid of my 300 after I put on the headdder and 4V setup:

it has dual pipes with glasspax now, much quieter.
I saw that part. Just wondering what it was comparable to. Going by a closed chamber with 2.18 intake valves, it sounds like some pretty healthy ports. Makes me think of it easily hitting 7k(when properly equipped).
there's tons of interst in the aluminum head for a 300. Being able to afford it is another story.
What other info do you have on it? like What does it compare to in terms of a V8 head? Huge ports like a Cleveland? try posting on FT too, there will be a big response.
To take full advantage of having the diesel, you should swap in a Dana 60 up front, Sterling or Dana 70-80 rear, and box the frame. I've seen pix of a powerstroke, a 6.9, and a Cummins swap in a Bump.
If it's for parade, it may be nicer to stick with a 370, or smaller diesel like a DT360 or Ford/New Holand 6.6 from an early 90s F6-800. The 466 may run too hot, and be a pain to get installed. The Ford (diesel or gas) should bolt in.
I'm Dale from Modesto. I work for the phone company to pay the bills, and have a diesel performance hobby/passion. My favorite is the DT466 from IH. For nostalgia, I'm going to attempt an all Ford drive train swap in my 67 F100, which will include a 6.6 litre diesel(hopped up of course), mated...
I've always wanted to do it. Even when I had a 351C-4V. I actually wanted to build a 408 stroker Clevor. Those heads really need cubes. It's hard to beat the kool look of Clevage heads!
I went to the Modesto, and Stockton Pik N Pulls yesterday. Lotsa worthless junk they need to get rid of. I did notice a few nice things. The one in Stockton had a nice 67 F250 I may get the grille from, since it was decently straight. Cant remember seeing but 3-4 Bumpsides, and a few Dents in...
It would be a challenge for a good fab guy. Stick with the 360 for easier fitment.
Here's my old project, a 466 sooper dooty:
