The rear cab window on my '03 F150 leaks and I'm gonna pull it & repair the leak. When I re-install the glass, are there torque specs I need to know for the mounting stud nuts? I am under the impression too much torque can crack the glass.
I've been tying to find out how to rectify my digital odometer going dark occasionally. My overhead digital thermometer and compass reading haven't lit up in a few years. How does one troubleshoot these circuits, and even get to them? The last thing I need is to interrupt my maintenance...
My '03 F150 has 2 DTCs...0171 & 0174; banks 1 & 2 lean. At 122222 miles and periodic fuel injector cleanings, is it time to check their flow or consider replacing 'em? Maybe I should look @ the fuel pressure @ the regulator, or look @ O2 sensors? Used Seafoam in the fuel tank a few times, as...
Those voltages are good to know cuz checking them is gonna be my next step if there's continuity through the sensors. It's my understanding that the sensors should read a specific/minimum resistance value across their pins when the plug is disconnected and the sensor isolated.
My '03 SES light is shinin' and threw a 0174 code. Bank 2 (passenger side?) is lean so I wanna measure the resistance values of the up and down stream oxygen sensors first. Can I get some feedback, please? I have no source to tell me what they are supposed to measure. I'd appreciate any help.
Went to #5 location, no valve. Just a plastic 90 degree elbow as described previously. Some are equipped with an elbow, some with a valve evidently. Correct me if I'm wrong, but no sign of any valve. Thanks for the picture, it really helped a lot.
I called the Ford dealer parts department who told me my PCV valve is "intake mounted". That info was given when I told them the last 8 digits of my VIN. Where on the intake is it? My Chilton's book and the O'reilly's parts store folks say it's on the right/passenger side valve cover but I only...
My '03 F150 w/a 4.2L engine has a squalling A/C Compressor clutch. My research found it has a type FS10 compressor and the R134a doesn't have to be evacuated to replace it and the bearing, nor takes special tools I can't get at the auto store. Is my research accurate? Any tips on doin' this job...
Starting/charging head scratcherWell, after letting the truck sit about four days tending to other business, the battery went to 10.0 volts. Installed a spare 535 CCA Walmart spare and the problem cleared up. The spare battery wasn't as wide and a little taller so I disconnected it a couple of...
Jump started truck and got 'r' home. Moved discussion to Ford Certified Tech Help forum to diagnose it further. Follow along if you so choose. Thanks folks.
My '03 F150's starter solenoid just clicked away when my wife tried to crank it couple days ago. Jumped it and drove home from Wally World and no issues since with that. Checked Alternator output, it's 14.05 volts. Battery is 3 year old DieHard with 12.5 volts. Now upon starting all gauges peg...
My '03 4.2L just gave my bride that familiar clicking when the starter solenoid goes south. Went to the scene @ Wally World and was surprised to see the solenoid mounted on the starter! Or am I dreamin'? O'reilly says that is true and doesn't sell them seperate. Now the dream is a nightmare...
