Well the interesting thing...the bilsteins are cheaper than the ranchos. I have no experience with them but people rave about both. Im not sure if they are simply justifying their purchase or actually believe it.
Guys, im looking at a couple different sets of shocks for my 05. Cc lb 6.0Truck is basically used exclusively for towing my boat, which is pretty light as far as tongue weight so im thinking theres not much effect there.I have in my mind decided to get either the bilstein 5100 or rancho...
Its pretty much bolt in if you use a coil sprung d44 from a late 70s half ton. Then use the outer knuckles off the ttb and put them on the straight axle. Need to make a track bar. Other than that...pretty straight forward.
Did a little searching and found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRiYJhgXFYoits not a regulator replacement, but gets you in the door. ( has get it....in the door. lololol)looks kind of like a pain in the butt, but more along the lines of lots of shit to remove, not so much as hard to...
Way more than typical tick.Ive always used mc filters but i cannot vouch for the previous owner. Im feeling like its possibly timing chain rattle? Like maybe my tensioner is backing off.
Gents my 5.4 has been getting some funky valve train noise coming and going.Ive noticed the most when im cruising the woods at slightly over idle. Then when i drop to idle i get what sounds like nasty valvle noise (like its totally out of oil) then a half second later it stops and sounds...
my truck is opposite, rear tank is tiny compared to front tank. in all honesty, if you dont need 2 tanks, just use your rear one. siphon it out and swap it over.there are a couple things to check, but that sending unit is what usually goes.... the tanks are pretty darn easy to take in and...
the reason to swap the front is so you can run 6 of the same wheels. i believe that the front is simply a wheel spacer. the rear is a different width axle and the bed flares can simply be attached. same fenders as a flare side.
if you really want a good running truck i would definitely recommend swapping a cummins 12 valve in there. You can get 754 horsepower and 2000 lb-ft torquw with slightly elevated EGTs by just turning the pump up. Everyone knows that. Didn't you know that all ford engines are poo poo?
well, after the turbo went down the doodoo hole on the superduty i decided best to wait on wheels for a while. so i went ahead and just got tires.I forgot to take a pre-lift picture because i thought i had some...nope. so heres an approximate pic of what it looked like before (not my truck)...
mine hasn't been cleaned, but it looks to me like either foriegn body entered, orrrr over speed, which would be consistent with my veins being frozen on wide open mode?
so, after thinking about this, since this turbine is on the hot side, that means whatever got in there came from the exhaust side of the engine. which means that either i had an injector tip come out or the dealership dropped a nugget when they did my injectors.
The unison ring is all corroded, thats why i pulled her apart, but what the heck is this all about? My first instinct was the bearings went and it was rubbing something, but there are absolutely no wear marks on anything, and the bearings are really tight. i cant get any slack on them...
Ryan,A week ago I would have agreed with you, but in my searching I fin myself gravitating towards black. So I'm gonna trust my gut and try something new. I've never had black wheels before so I might go for it.Roy,They are blingy, but I found that straight black turned me off.I'm...
i am keeping the same tires for a little while, at least until i get the most possible use out of them. Ill get some pics up. yeah, i noticed it not handling the sharp corners on the interstate as well. felt taller.
