I don't recall seeing any fancy door handles before. The door is easily adjusted with a wrench and takes only minutes once you orientate yourself with the bolts.
I did and it makes perfect sense. Science is science and it's almost beyond the point of continuing the debate. The price was below local costs and the instruction sheet seals the deal for the kit. I am a satisfied customer.
I saw Dennis' post about HiPoParts LED kits and decided to share my experiences. I purchased the blue LED bulb cluster illumination package, part #BL7379FT-FG, shown here: http://www.hipoparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=468In addition to the LED kit, I also purchased the extra bulbs to...

I would sure hate to have to remove and replace a 1445 if the space on the other models is as limited as my 78. One would need some very narrow needle-nose pliers, flexibility in the lower back and lots of patients to twist the 1/8 turn.My wedge type 161 came out fairly easily after a few tugs...
I got it out.
The bulb I removed from my truck steering column is a 194.I see now why it is - because of the limited space. There is no room to turn the BA9S type base of a 1445.

Thank you, Dennis, you truly are still da man. You've saved me from myself and a lot of unnecessary work. I appreciate you.Buck,
I'm going after that bulb tomorrow so I will let you know exactly what socket it is. I too am replacing my lamps with LEDs plus a full instrument cluster restoration.
I almost hate to respond because of hijacking-appearance but manners rule.Thank you, Blue Goose. That is original paint and completely hand rubbed. Can't wait to get a DA.
I want to replace the gear selection indicator light located in the steering column. I assume it is accessed by removing the steering wheel and the turn signal switch. But I hate to assume for obvious reasons...Before I tear into there, I hoped someone (Cough, Dennis) would be able to correct...
I use mine as a daily driver and I feel your pain, brother. I have even caught myself eye-balling small cars with For Sale signs on them.Fuel prices will level out and, perhaps, drop to an acceptable level like in the 70's. If and until then, I will bite the bullet as long as I can.
