That dark semi circle on the rotor from the tip to the center hole is charred. Current path I figure. Inside the cap are little pieces of the melted rotor stuck to the sides. The rotor burned into that shape, not broken.

IE9 is the pits. It seemed to work fine at first. then one day Windows live essentials updated. Now it takes a full two minutes to start up and open some pages. Windows live mail is the same way.
