2000 4.0 L Explorer won't start

I have a 2000 Ford explorer and I started it the other day and heard a noise like the fan was hitting something. So I shut it off and now it won't start. I have spark on all wires plus it is getting gas. Does anyone know what it can be? I am suspecting the timing chain but I don't know how to test for this, any suggestions.

Timing would be a good place to start.

Ditto, timeing chain. FYI, if thats what it is, you gotta pull the engine out to change out the backside
