74 F350 progressive miss

I just picked up a 74 F350 with I think a 460. It starts and runs well, but after about 20 minutes it develops a miss then 2 and on until i'm running on 5 cylinders until it quits altogether. It has a rebuilt distributor and new coil.
Any Ideas???

460's have 7 valve cover bolt holes per side, and were optional in 1973/79 F100/350's, except with 4WD.

Some 1974/75 F350's have DuraSpark Electronic Ignition, some have points and condensers.

Does you truck have DuraSpark?

If so, the DuraSpark's ignition module is mounted up against the left fender inner apron just in front of the firewall.

These ignition modules were horrid terds from day one, are notorious for cutting out, caused by engine heat.

The modules were so troublesome, Ford techs called the system NeverSpark.

This truck has a point distributor.

Maybe it has chargind system problems, have it checked first. Alt, seperate regulator,battery itself, even cables.
