Throw on some NGK Plugs, 8 or 9mm Accel wires, maybe an MSD Coil or accel Coil, look for a 5.0 Mustang one, it'll really kick the rev'n up.. Can't remember if the 2000 V6 was COP or not.

Tuner would help, little bit.. Not much to change on a V6.. If he's running Standard Tranny, move up to a CF Billet clutch (loose some weight).. Get some under-drive pullies.. Move to a Flex-Lite cooling fan (less weight).. Last but not least, slap a Supercharger on it

Just remind him the 3.8 isn't exactly bullet proof.. So there's a chance he could cake the block.
