Getting rid of the huge lower air valance

I recently bought a ‘21 F250 Superduty. Love the look, but the huge “Jay Leno Chin” had to go! It’s an easy sway (the tremor valance is a direct replacement), but there are two brackets behind it that I took off. I’m sure that hypothetically they provide some measure of protection for the front suspension?

Likely more about fuel efficiency by redirecting the flow around the front.
