Scratches

I have a all black truck with some serious scratches in it. Yes, black is the worst. These scratches are from branches, brush and so on. Its sucks owning a black truck with several white streaks down both sides.

How could I get these out without having to go to a detailer and having to spend $400.00? Once its through the clear coat, is that it?

I an certainly no expert, but I think once it is through the clear...there is not much that can be done.

I will wait for other replies, so if there is some magic solution...I can read it too. LOL

You could use the colored wax kits from turtle wax, use the chalk stuff on the deep scratches. It's just a temporary fix, but will look ok for a while.
Or if your good with a buffer and some polishing compound, you'll be able to get most of it out....
