0516 - 2008 F-super Duty - "wiring Fault On Trailer" Displayed In Message Center With Dtc C2806
Some 2008 F-super Duty Vehicles Equipped W/ Factory Tbc May Have "wiring Fault On Trailer" In Message Center And Dtc C2806. C2806 Is Set When A Short Exists Between Any Circuit And The Output Line. To Avoid Repeat Repairs, 1)all Circuits In 7 Pin Connector Bundle (right/left Turn, Back Up, Brake, Tail Lamp, Etc.) Should Be Activated In Turn, While Check For Voltage On Output Line Is Being Performed; 2)check Aftermarket Wiring, Especially On 5th Wheel Hitches. All Wiring Must Be Soldered/shrink Wrapped. Use Of Scotch Locks/other Connectors Is Not Recommended; 3)check For Water Intrusion In C4099 And Round 7-pin Connector, Replacement Is Necessary For Both C4099 (pigtail 3u2z-14s411-jxa) And The Round 7 Pin Connector; Add Dielectric Grease. If No Water Intrusion Follow Pinpoint For C2806.
