I got a job!!!

I've been keeping it hush hush because the job market has sucked so badly and because I wasn't sure, but I've been pursuing a Fund Accountant position at State Street here in Kansas City, MO.

I had a phone interview... an on site interview... and then I got a phone call today telling me we are moving to the 'next step' which is criminal background and credit checks. If the false identity I put in works properly, everything should go as planned!

Anyway, I'm pumped I found work in this market WITH my field of focus in school.

Congrats Ryan- good news. They sound like the School district- no one actually said "you're hired." After the second interview, I was asked to drop by photo ID, my ss card, a signed criminal backround check authorization, and a blank check (so payroll could set up direct deposit).

Next week I have an informal interview with a incoming Middle-School Principal, who's looking for a Media Specialist (Librarian) for his new school. The biggest part of that job is reviewing, authorizing, and purchasing textbooks, and figuring out how to squeeze everyone's needs into the existing funding. For some reason he thinks I'd be good at that.

Just so you guys know, I have been telling Ryan for the past week that he got the job. Heck, I knew before he had the site interview that he had the job. All he needed was the chance and I knew he would make it REALLY hard for them to pass him up!

*Is this a full-time job, Ryan? If memory serves, you were figuring on grad school next year...will you be able to do both, or will the time restrictions from one place some restrictions on the other?
