Hahaha - Must have wiped the text when i added pics Eric ..... new system of loading had me scratching my head a little.
This one belongs to a client who had noticed coolant loss and slight overheating under load so we juiced it up and found compression gasses in the radiator - heads off and away to be planed then sit them back in place hopefully before the weekend so he can get it out for the vintage rally.
I like flatheads too, but if I would ever have to choose a flathead Ford engine to drive I'd probably pick the Rouge 254 straight-6. At least they're supposed to have fewer cooling issues than the V8.
