a little while ago the brakes on my 94 f150 started acting funny. When I push the pedal down, it would act like it started to grab, then it would go another inch then grab. Is this the master cylinder?
I agree, theoretically you should have more power with out it. I have no experience taking one off though. I would think a large part of the increase power would come from not pumping unnecessary air into the exhaust. Reducing back pressure similarly to putting a larger exhaust on.
Bring this one back. Should I put a trans cooler on my truck? I do not plan on doing any heavy towing. But I might use it to drag some stumps around our property. Just don't want to have any problems with it this summer. thanks
yeah, I guess I can get one. I was thinking I wasn't going to have time one on, it hadn't occurred to me I could pay to have one put on, cause I always do it myself.
I replaced my auto locking hubs this winter cause one was bad. One is still good though, and I hate to through perfectly good things away. I am not looking for much for it, just make an offer. Cash or little things in trade. I am in west Mi.
I am sure everyone takes different amount of risks and will have a different opinion, I would still appreciate input. I may be buying a travel trailer to stay in a few months while I finish our house this fall. I have a 94 f150. It does NOT have a rheuse (sp?) hitch, just a bumper hitch. How...
either truck I would be getting would be from the south. :) I would also probably want a manual in either, more likely with the dodge with a 6 speed available. My big issue is by the time I put the upgrades on the ford to make it what I want, I would have enough into it I might be able to just...
I have been having this debate in my head for the past several months. I love the ford 300 inline 6. Mostly cause of its simplicity, low end torque, mileage it can possibly get, and they are cheap. I have been going back and forth, if I had around $5000-$6000 for a truck would I be better of...
I have been having brake issues. I thought it was the master cylinder. THe pedal has had more travel than it should. When I pushed it it woudl fell like it started to grab then would let loose and then grab later. It feels like the back brakes are not working correctly. Well when I came...
The front drivers side wheel started making noises this week. It started intermittently, but is now constant. I do not fully understand how they work, I have the auto locks. It sounds like it is trying to engage but the spline is grinding. There is grinding and rattling coming from the...
I am very curious about this also, any Idea on price? I could not find it on the site. I think an AL head with more compression and timing would make the 300 a great engine. More power and fuel economy.
For the trans in my current truck. It has 160,000 miles on it. I bought the truck in Nov, I should have changed the fluid then, but didn't The truck sat almost a year before I bought it, I think. Since this incident, I did change the fluid and filter, and seems to shift a little better now.
I recently bought a 94 f150 with the 300-6 and an E4OD trans. A couple weeks ago I had a scare. 1st and Reverse quit working, they started working again on their own, and I since changed the trans fluid. I know you can't predict the future, but do think the transmission is going to be...
Sorry, I filed out all my stuff now. I came here for one easy question at first, but now I have tons of questions. So I will be coming here as long as I have my truck, I am sure. Thanks for all the info.
Well the rear spring brackets were just replaced, the main leaf was also replaced, and the other leafs are not broke. I suppose one side could be sagged more then the other though. It is actually sitting quite level now, and drives pretty straight. It pulls slightly to the right, and the...
well, what ever it was, it is gone now. Maybe it was a chunk of ice stuck on the outer edge of the rotor? Thanks anyway, I have had quite a few problems with the truck and I am little hypersensitive to any little problem. I hope I have caught up with all the problems for a while.
yesterday, the brake pedal started feeling funny, it pulsated, and if pushed hard it would kinda release and catch again. At first I thought master cylinder. Then on the way home from work this morning, there was a rubbing sound, and like a clicking sound. This is on a 94 f150 4x4. As for...
well thanks for the suggestions guys, I will try to get some pictures taken and posted sometime. I think part of the problem was the drivers side rear spring mount was rusted, bent and recently broke. No that I have a new one, the truck is sitting closer to level. The drivers side still might...
Got all the trans fluid changed today. Shifts much sooner now. I did not think there was more then normal amount of gunk in the pan, but the fluid sure was dark. It shifts much earlier now too, might help the mileage little. The drain on the torque converter though...should that have any...
I live in Mi, when we got 16inches of snow Wed. morning, i went our playing in it. I was driving around for a few hours in 4 wheel drive, in deep snow. Not doing anything crazy just cruising the back roads. After a while, the trans would not go into 1st or reverse. After sitting a few days...
Well, I might have more problems now. Earlier this week, I started getting a burning electrical smell coming from the engine. The only thing warm under the engine electrical was the alternator. I think the alternator is overcharging, it is brand new. Since is it 5 degrees out right now and I...
I don't know for sure, but I would say yes the frame is still straight. When I am looking at the height of the truck I am looking at the distance from the bumpers to the ground on all four corners and the space between the frame and the rubber bumpers that hit when it bottoms out. The body...
I have a 94 F150 4x4 with the heavy duty front suspension on it. Well the truck was in an accident. The drivers side of the truck was hit, on an angle I think. They hit the front tire, and slid rearward. The front tire, and suspension was damaged a little. The only thing I can see was...
Well I finally got this all figured out this weekend. It was easy, took the alternator to NAPA, the tested it and could tell the diodes were good, so it looked like a bad winding. So it was a new alternator for me.
