I mentioned a little while ago I'm kinda wanting a decent highway cruiser.
Saw a '92 Merc Cougar beside the road today. Body looked good on top (didn't look underneath), claimed to run good but have transmission problems.
So I got thinking... In that year, they built some T-birds with manual trannys (I'm as die-hard a stick-shifter as you'll find...), so it would seem to me that maybe between parts from those and Mustangs (I'm assuming the Cougar has either a 5.0 or 3.8 engine, both of which I believe came in Mustangs with manuals behind them) I could probably bolt together a manual transmission car pretty well. Right?
Dunno about the computer end of things at all, though...
Anybody got any idea? Or should I just drop this crazy idea now?
