The cloth seats in the new F-150's isn't the greatest. It stains real easy. Anyone have any good suggestions for cleaning cloth interior?

"It stains real easy"

thats being easy about it. a sweating pop bottle will leave a mark forever!
mine look like hell in a year, and i dont get in it if i am dirty!

Umm...not sure of the best cleaner with the seats in the truck.

I put cloth escort GT seats in my old ranger from a salvage yard. When I got they they were horribly stained. Both from kids (gross) and from sitting in the salvage yard with the windows down.

I sprayed them with a garden hose and some stain remover mom had at here house. I did that several times and let them sit in the sun for a few days to dry. I used a scrub brush vigorously with each application. They were not quite new, but looked about 95% better. Smelled better too.

You might try the spray upholstery cleaner (foaming stuff) from wally world. I have heard other people like it.

Once you get them clean and dry (however you do it) scotch guard them. They repel water and other liquids for a long time.

There are good spot removers at hardware stores and probably wals-mart like brian said. There's some good stuff at westlake. It's called Spot-Shot. I have no idea if it's generic or if you'll even carry it anywhere in St. Louis.

BLUE CORAL makes about the best upholstery cleaner on the market, hands down, but it is also important to consider what the stain IS...
sooooo what is it???

mine are just water! leaves a bad stain on the seats. anything with a little moisture on it is gonna leave a mark!

looks kinda like a ceiling stain after a roof leak.

i didnt know they still sold scotchguard, thought they quit because a lab rat got cancer.

Try a mild vinegar and water solution; use a spray bottle to universally dampen the seats, and then work in with a towel or brush. make sure you do this to the entire seat... wipe with a dry white towel as dry as you can, and allow to dry.
scotchguard is good for regular soils or even some liquid stains as a repellant. but Teflon is better. both are sold in spray form, and will need reapplying with EACH cleaning!

same here. One seats got a few water spots on them and the other has a few drops from a soda on it.

That's the beauty of the vinegar. stains that appear from water usually cause a stain called "browning" (a dark edge around the spill) this is from sugars produced by natural fibers used in the upholstery, either the fabric or a backing. The vinegar will nuetralize the sugars.
Point of hope...be glad it's not haitian cotton...

when i bought my truck the seats were filthy. saturated with dirt, grease and other stains. well i used a steam cleaner from one of those infomercials and it worked great! i felt like i was in the infomercial. the thing cost 20 bucks and my truck with 150k miles on it now has what looks like a brand new cloth bench seat.
