I was wondering what tire size came on my 77 F250 4X4 from the factory?

Not sure... Probably a 7.50x16 Bias Ply or maybe 9.50x16 Bias Ply

Either 7.5x16 or 9.5x16.5...what aguy has to reach 50k some how.


That conversion on a stock tire is roughly 31" tony.

Which is a 235/85/16 (skinny) or a 265/75/16 (wide). Both of these are roughly 31 inches... Both of these sizes are very common and should be easy to find used ones if you want...

And just for the record, the half ton would take a 225/75/15 for the factory equivalent size IIRC

Really happy with the 265/75R16 that I bought to replace the skinny 235/85R16 that it had. Feels better on the road with more contact, JMO

Yes, and the RPM's, not that it really affects anything since electronics are not involved. You can do almost anything with these older trucks and the only downside will be mileage!

In 16" tires, there are 3 common sizes: 29", 31", and 33"

Both have a narrow and wide variant.

29" = 215/85/16 narrow and 245/75/16 wide

31" = 235/85/16 narrow and 265/75/16 wide

33" = 255/85/16 narrow and 285/75/16 wide

This is all going off memory but I think it's accurate.

Actually the F-150's took an L78x 15 which is a 235x78x15

Tire sizes:

The first 3 digits is the tread width in mm's
The second set of numbers is the %age of the tread width
THe third set is the rim diameter
