Leak on master cyl. 1984 f-250 4X4

Hello everyone, I am new to FTF

Brake fluid leaks out of the rear reservoir. The leak seams to be between the master cylinder and the booster. Brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. Brake light is always on. Please help, and thank you in advance.

welcome to FTF

your seal is worn out in the master cylinder, cheap and easy to replace. Don't forget to bench bleed the new one. I had the exact same thing a few years ago in my 1983 F250.

also do a complete check of the brake system, check the lines, the slave cylinders at the wheels, for leaks or cracks in the rubber hoses and replace where needed. One of the most important things on these old trucks to make sure everything is working

Common failure mode for the rear seals, replace the master cylinder.

Mine died too. 38 dollars for a brand new one. Put it in just make sure you bleed it a little before you hook up your brake.lines to it. Saves a ton of bleeding on the calipers
