low oil pressure at temp.

so have recently purchased 1984 f150XLT 351w 4v auto 4x4. when cold oil pressure is about 40-45psi. as vehicle warms up pressure starts to drop. by the time engine is at full temp press. is about 10-15psi in park. shift to drive and press. drops to 5psi. leave to idle in drive pressure drops to 0psi. put it in park again and pressure comes back up to 10-15psi. oil pump(press. relief valve) or cam bearings. if its cam bearings anyone know a good reliable retailer for rebuilt motors in victoria b.c. area or up island. regards jake

If its high mileage, I'd believe worn bearings. An oil pump replacement might delay its demise, but eventually you'll be replacing or rebulding.

g'day..thanks for the quick comeback..with close to 300,000mi it's as i feared.guess it's replacement time. regards, jake
