This is my official build thread for my wife's Expedition I just bought her.

Specs:

1998 Ford Expedition XLT
198,000 miles
4.6 Triton
4x4
Leather interior
Burgandy exterior color
Gray Interior

Picked it up on April 24th and plan on tearing into it starting this weekend. When I looked at it I knew there was a miss on the #4 cylinder. The truck has some other interior issues, but nothing major.

DAY 1:

Unloaded it off the trailer.

Popped the #4 plug out and pulled compression on the cylinder. NO COMPRESSION....

Decision made: Pull Engine.

Opened up the truck and found evidence of smoker owned and NASTY vent clip "air fresheners."

Decision made: Let it air out today and tomorrow. COMPLETELY rip out the interior this weekend and CLEAN.

While the interior and Engine are out, the BL and Suspension upgrades will be made along with other wiring that will need to be done for the stereo system.

END DAY 1

Interior is actually in pretty good shape, except for the smoke smell from previous owners...

Floor pans look really good! Glad to see no rust at all. Thinkin of spraying bed liner on the floor boards to keep road noise down a bit...

Leftovers from a nasty wiring job on an alarm system.

Yeah she was a great little helper. She made sure daddy kept ALL the bolts and parts in little baggies.

More work tomorrow...

DAY 3:

Didn't get to do much today with it. Kinda spittin rain off and on today...

What I did get done though helped a bunch.

Pulled the headliner out and noticed Ford never put any paint on bracket that the overhead console bolts to. NOT flyin in my book. LOL
536370_10150784986407838_751397837_9709752_647144386_n.jpg

So I put a coat of paint on it after I wire brushed it...

Looking good. How do you plan to get the smoke smell out of the seat foam?

I am unsure of that at this point. I am thinking febreeze or odo-ban type chemical. I have been having good luck with my 409 carpet cleaner as well removing the smell. May try soaking some of that in... Just have to play around with it a bit.

I have a couple weeks before the lift shows up so I am leaving the interior out of it till it shows up.

I cleaned the whole inside of my truck with mean green then repainted door panels, dash, dash pad, an the black rubber floor mat. It still smells like cigarettes smoke and I betting its from the seat foam and floor mat.
