smog glitch

hey guys, 1st time here, the ol" 97 f250-hd 7.5 ltr. check engine light wont come on. I know its usually the other way around but it doesnt come on at all and wont pass smog. Is there a fuse or a bulb to fix this?

Did the tell you what particular test it wasn't passing and what numbers the truck was putting up vs. what is allowed? As for the fuse...there would be more in your dash that would be out...possibly a bulb, have you run a scan yet?

Ben, it wont pass the emissoins test if the CEL doesn't come on when the key is first turned on...

So everything could pass no codes no nothing, but if your CEL wont come on, automatic fail.
