The best restaurants nearby are probably Arthur Bryant's BBQ and Jazz (a Cajun cooking place). There's a fire roasted pizza joint in the area, but we've never been there. Also for more family-oriented fun, you might consider Hooters.
That area is all fairly new and developed when they built the speedway in 2001. There's not much there for sight seeing, but there is endless food and entertainment options. It's just a commercial metropolis. You might like the Cabela's up there, or Dave & Buster's to kill some time.
We had a great time, that area is a great place for an event. We were actually in Arthur Bryant's but a person in our group couldn't handle the cafeteria style so we had to go somewhere else. We went to the Backfire BBQ place, had the OCC theme, food was decent and all the motorcycles and stuff was cool.
