I'm planning a long-weekend camping trip, probably sometime in September...was thinking of heading to Acadia National Park, but a couple months ago I passed through the Thousand Islands in NY, and it looked awful pretty.
Don't really know much about the area, though- anybody got any insight to offer? What to do/see? How it might compare to the Acadia area?
I'm a tent-camper, but I don't like campground cooking- it's a vacation, and cooking and cleanup is just too damned much work in the great outdoors. So enough of a town, near enough by that I can buy at least some meals is a big plus.
