If you can get even one of the Ford shop manuals, all the codes on those tags are decoded in the front. Paint codes might change from year to year, but alot are the same. You should be able to score 1 of the volumes for $20 on ebay.

I dont guess I need anything really. Just snooping as I was told a SWB 4x4 supercab was not made in 1978.

I know I need more than the VIN but I dont see a tag like the one pictured.

S = 400 2V.

K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant.

BA5135 = 1978, assembled November 1977.
