Converting to roller Lifters?

Hey Kris, if running roller lifters in a 460 is not a good idea and they demand more valve maintenance not to mention you loose valve lift why do so many run them in the 460s?
Seems like less people would be using them in their engines..

Not too many people run them in 460s. You see an aweful lot of solid rollers but not hydraulic. The guys who do are simply misinformed. You have to do a tremendous amount of maintenance on solid rollers and generally you dont on hydraulic cams. I guess thats where the "appeal" could come from. So, its not the maintenance issue its the valvetrain geometry problem that you shouldnt want to run a hydraulic roller.

Damn I was told the same thing about gear drive timing set ups, that they were so superior to chain timing sets.....
So hydro flat tappets are the best kind of cam to run in a 460 ok, gotta file that one away in the brain :)
